St Botolphs Church

Saturday: finish of Legs 2 and 2a open from 12.30 until 6pm

Sunday: Start of Leg 3, open from 0730 until 0830, and for start of Bike 2, 10.30 until 11.30

Location. St Botolph’s Church, Annington Road, Botolphs, near Steyning, West Sussex BN44 3WA. Map Reference TQ193092.

This is on the west side of the River Adur just over 2 miles north of the A27 and 1.5 miles south of Steyning. Walkers arriving here will cross the river on the South Downs Way and turn left on reaching the road. The church is on the east side of this road. Those arriving by road will either take the Annington Road out of Steyning or take the Coombes Road turning off the A27 (opposite Shoreham Airport turning and next to the Sussex Pad Hotel). Refreshments will be on sale at the Church on both days.

Parking. There is a field car park (not the Church cemetery car park), but walkers and riders must ensure their prompt return after finishing as the field needs to be secured.

Buses. Brighton and Hove Buses Route 2A passes through Beeding and goes via the A283 to Shoreham by Sea railway station. Details can be found on the Brighton and Hove Buses website and the Southern Railway timetable can be viewed by clicking here.

The Hike4Hospices buses will be available to take walkers back to Devils Dyke, Pyecombe or Lewes, click here to see the timetable.
